My Useful Tips Holy Week Reflection

For us Christians, Lent is the time of being quiet and reflective, stepping away from the “world’” to focus on the commemoration of the passion and death of Jesus Christ. It is during this season that we are encouraged to undertake small or big gesture of sacrifice (prayer, self-denial, service, etc.) which will hopefully lead us closer to God. It is also the season of the year where we prepare for Easter time….more joyful, more generous and encouraging! Regardless of how we formulate our Lenten discipline (or even if you don’t), I hope that it will help us turn towards … Continue reading My Useful Tips Holy Week Reflection

The Battle For World Peace!

I recall in our younger years, my mother who is a Marian devotee would call everyone in the family to join her in praying the Holy Rosary particularly during the month of October which is traditionally devoted to the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary. We likewise undertake certain things such as praying and doing acts of mercy and love.     However, do we know that Lent is the season of the year where we prepare for Easter time as well? Lent signifies the freshness of new life — we could  be transformed … Continue reading A Moment of Reflection

The Beauty of Lent: A Layman’s Viewpoint -Tips and Thoughts

According to Church teachings, there are 6 seasons in the Church Liturgical Year, namely: Advent, Christmas, Ordinary Time, Lent, Three Days or ( Triduum), and Easter. For purposes of this blog, the  discussion shall focus on  Lent, including the Three Days, based on personal knowledge since childhood up to this time. I may not be in a position to discuss its merits in full-length as I am neither a part of any religious congregation nor a theologian/ scholar who is an expert in Canon Law. However, my humble understanding on the subject, acquired through experience and study (with 12 Theology units in … Continue reading The Beauty of Lent: A Layman’s Viewpoint -Tips and Thoughts
